Bhopal's water supply to get a Rs 448 crore boost under AMRUT 2.0
Projects worth Rs 448 crore have been sanctioned under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 for Bhopal. A significant portion of the approved amount would be used for a water supply capacity of 61 million liters per day (MLD) — sufficient to cater to nearly a million people — will be added in Bhopal.
The water capacity expansion is projected to meet the city's probable population requirements by 2040. Work involves the construction of 50 MLD, 4.5 MLD, 10 MLD, 9 MLD, and 18 MLD water treatment plants, along with a clear water pump house, will be undertaken.
