Ford plans to revive its Tamil Nadu plant
American multinational automobile manufacturer Ford has announced the revival of its dormant manufacturing facility in Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai to roll out cars for the export market. This comes after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin met the company's representatives in Chicago, requesting them to restart the plant.
The plant is spread over an area of 350 acres and has an annual production capacity of around 200,000 vehicles and 340,000 engines.
