Grasim Industries to invest Rs 3,049 crores for expansion of is Harihar plant
Aditya Birla Group firm, Grasim Industries, has approved the second phase of expansion of its Lyocell plant at Harihar in Karnataka. At present, Phase 1 is under construction is set to be commissioned by mid-2027.
The firm has approved Rs 3,094 crore for Phase 2 expansion. In Phase 1, the plant will have a capacity of 55,000 tonnes each year, while the second will add another 110,000 tonnes of capacity. Lyocell, a semi-synthetic fibre that the plant will make, is used across apparel, home textiles and technical textile applications.
