Royal Canin invests Rs 100 crore, opnes new plant in Maharashtra
French manufacturer and global supplier of cat and dog food Royal Canin has invested Rs 100 crore in India. The firm has set Asia's second-largest fully operational packaging plant in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra.
The new packaging center, which is Royal Canin’s first facility in India, will have automatic packing machines and associated utilities installed for the conversion of bulk products into retail packs catering to Indian pet owners' requirements. Royal Canin didn't rule out the possibility of exports from the facility in the future.
Indian pet care industry is worth $700 million and is growing at 15% annually.
