Tower Semiconductor plans chip plant in India, to invest USD 8 billion as per reports
As per reports from The Economic Times Israeli semiconductor firm Tower Semiconductor has submitted a proposal to India's government to build an USD 8 billion chipmaking facility. The firm is seeking government incentives for its plan and is looking to manufacture 65-nanometre and 40-nanometre chips in India.
This comes amidst the initial bids to offer USD10 billion in incentives to the industry by the government that have floundered, with some proposals stalled or canceled.
