GAIL and ADNCO sign deal for purchase of LNG
Government-owned natural gas firm GAIL has signed a 10-year agreement with UAE’s ADNOC Gas for the purchase of up to 0.52 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of liquified natural gas (LNG). As per the deal, the supply would start in 2026.
The cargoes will be delivered from ADNOC Gas’ Das Island natural gas facility and the move aligns with India's goal to increase natural gas's share in its energy mix to 15% by 2030, amidst rising LNG demand.
