IOCL plans expansion of Bihar refinery, to invest Rs 21,000 crore
Government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has plans to expand its Barauni refinery in Bihar and establish a city gas distribution network across the state. The firm would invest Rs 21,000 crore in the project. The plan is to expand the capacity from 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 9 mtpa, along with setting up of a petrochemical plant, which would take an investment of Rs 16,000 crore.
IOCL plans to invest Rs 5,600 crore to set up a network for retailing CNG to vehicles and piped cooking gas to households and industries in 27 cities of Bihar.
