Brahmaputra & Barak river projects: Government to invest over Rs 1,000 crore
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways would be investing Rs 1,010 crores for the comprehensive development of the Brahmaputra and Barak rivers in Assam. Work would include 12 floating terminals, 2 Multimodal Terminals, and a riverine-based religious tourism circuit. The project also covers the approval of a new slipway in Majuli.
The Infrastructure development also targets improved road access and ship repair facilities.
