Seaplane Services To Be Launched On Various Routes By Government
After the launch of the country's maiden seaplane service between the Statue of Unity near Kevadiya and Sabarmati Riverfront, the government is planning to start seaplane services on several routes. Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Mansukh Mandaviya informed on Thursday. Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Udaipur, Delhi-Jodhpur, and Delhi-Badrinath are amongst the proposed routes for seaplane service.Â
Other proposed routes include Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep, Guwahati Riverfront and Umranso Reservoir in Assam, Yamuna Riverfront / Delhi (as a hub) to Ayodhaya, Tehri, Srinagar (Uttrakhand), Chandigarh. Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and the Ministry of Civil Aviation would collaborate for the project. No separate budget has been provided as of now for this initiative, said the ministry.
