5 RRTS corridors proposed by Karnataka state government
The state government of Karnataka has proposed 5 semi-high-speed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors modelled after the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat project. These 5 corridors are:
- Bengaluru–Bidadi–Mysuru corridor
- Bengaluru–Harohalli–Kanakapura corridor
- Bengaluru–Nelamangala–Tumakuru corridor
- Bengaluru–Airport–Chikkaballapur corridor
- Bengaluru-Hoskote–Kolar corridor
The state government has sought the approval of the central government for this project. Further, the government asked for Rs 1.5 lakh crore from the Union government for infrastructure projects to transform Bengaluru.
