Bharat Coking Coal hands over Dugdha coal washery to JSW Steel
The subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), has handed over the Dugdha Coal Washery to JSW Steel Ltd. This washery has a capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
This transfer was carried out under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal and marks the country's first asset monetisation of a coal washery. This move is aimed at modernizing the coal sector assets, improving operational efficiency and enabling more efficient resource utilisation through private sector participation.
