Vedanta emerges successful bidder for manganese block in Andhra Pradesh
Minerals and mining major Vedanta Ltd has emerged as the successful bidder for the Punnam manganese block in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. Spanning 152 hectares, the block is in the initial phase of mineral exploration (G4 stage), which involves large-scale geological surveys to identify potential mineral deposits.
Manganese ore is a key raw material used to produce ferro-manganese and silico-manganese alloys, which are essential for imparting strength and toughness to steel.
