Delhi Government to invest over Rs 266 crore for modern public toilet blocks
The Delhi government plans to invest Rs 266.26 crore to develop 500 modern public toilet blocks across the city. The proposed facilities will include solar panels, CCTV cameras, sanitary pad vending machines, ramps, and outdoor video walls.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a modern public convenience complex at Labour Chowk in Shalimar Bagh. She said 2,000 modern public toilet blocks would be built across Delhi within a year.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Tourism Department will construct 1,000 toilets each.
