Emami to setup foodpark in West Bengal
Kolkata-based multinational conglomerate Emami Group has plans to develop a food park in West Bengal to accelerate its entry into the packaged foods business. The firm plans to invest Rs 400 crore in the project as it aims to foray into western and traditional packaged snacks manufactured through its own and contract manufacturers.
The firm has sought 22 acres of land from the state government for the project. Further, Emami is looking to set up new headquarters to consolidate operations in a single building, and has sought 3-4 acres from the state government in Kolkata.
