Mega order worth Rs 15,000 crore bagged by L&T
Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) has bagged a major contract in the Middle East. The order is to expand and fortify high-voltage electricity grids with an estimated value of Rs 10000 to Rs 15000 crore.
The work involves high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems and gas-insulated substations (GIS), which are key elements in modernizing and interconnecting regional grids in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. L&T has been tasked with establishing +-500kV HVDC transmission links.
