PM Modi to inaugurate projects worth Rs 35,000 crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore in Gujarat today. One of the major highlights will be the inauguration of three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC): Sanand (North)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale, and New Saphale-Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT).
These 3 sections span a total of 326 km and are built with an investment of Rs 20,700 crore. Prime Minister will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT.
Other projects, inaugurations, and flag-offs to look out for will be:
- New Jobat-Tanda Road rail line, developed as part of the Chhota Udepur-Dhar project
- Foundation laying for Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth lines, Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge conversion, and Vishwamitri-Dabhoi doubling project
- Work on six-laning of the Kamrej-Chalthan section of NH-48, construction of additional structures, including major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada on the Vadodara-Surat section of NH-48, and grade-separated structures at Abhava, Mindhola, and Khajod junctions on NH-53
- Inauguration of six-lane flyovers at Kandari Chokdi and Luvara Patia on the Vadodara-Surat section of NH-48
- Launch and inauguration of road projects worth Rs 2,600 crore by the Gujarat state government
- Launch of housing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and a water supply project for 11 villages in eastern Vadodara
