Reliance to invest Rs 5,000 crore to set 50 biogas plants
Renowned business name Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has plans to set up around 50 compressed biogas (CBG) plants in the next two years. RIL would invest Rs 5,000 crore for the project. CBG is a green fuel similar to CNG and RIL aims to reduce carbon emissions, produce organic manure, and retail CBG and bio-CNG at Jio-BP outlets.
RIL's chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced plans to set up 100 CBG plants in five years.
