Rs 1042 crore approved for road projects in West Bengal
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved Rs 1,042.6 crore for the development of road infrastructure in West Bengal. A total of 6 roads, including four state highways and two major district roads, will be developed and upgraded.
These projects are
State Highways:
- Changrabandha–Jamaldah–Mathabhanga Stretch: 5 km stretch.
- Mathabhanga to Cooch Behar Road Stretch: 35 km stretch.
- Monteshwar-Dainhat Road: 24 km stretch in East Burdwan.
- Burdwan-Katwa Road: 45 km stretch.
- Raghunathpur-Chandankairy Chas Road: 28 km stretch in Purulia
District road projects:
- Sultangacha-Khanpur-Dasghara Road: 36 km stretch in Hooghly.
- Bishnupur Beliaghata Road: 12 km stretch under the Barasat highway division in North 24 Parganas
