Rs 8,000 crore sanctioned by Tamil Nadu government for rural roads development
The state government of Tamil Nadu has sanctioned Rs 8,000 crore investment to upgrade 20,000 km of rural roads. This investment would be made under the Mudalvarin Grama Saalaigal Membattu Thittam (MGSMT).
As of now, the 9,690 projects covering 12,572 km have been completed for Rs 4,609 crore, while work on another 6,671 km is underway with a budget of Rs 3,529 crore.
