SAIL commissions floating solar plant at Bhilai
Government-owned Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has commissioned a floating solar power plant at its Bhilai Steel Plant. The 5 MW solar project is set with the aim to strengthen SAIL’s clean energy portfolio and reducing the carbon footprint of its steel manufacturing operations.
Under the project, solar panels are strategically placed on water bodies within the plant premises, maximising land use and boosting energy efficiency.
