Tata Steel launches scarp based eletctric arc furnance in Ludhiana
Tata Group's flagship firm, Tata Steel, inaugurated its first scrap-based Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) facility at Hi-Tech Valley in Ludhiana. The EAF facility has a capacity of 0.75 million tonnes per annum.
As per The Economic Times, the project has taken an investment of Rs 3,200 crores. The unit is designed to achieve CO? emissions of less than 0.3 tonnes per tonne of steel.
