Tatanagar station redevelopment: Work likely to be completed by 2028
The redevelopment work of the Tatanagar station is likely to be completed by 2028. South Eastern Railway (SER) General Manager Manish Jain said the project, which will require an investment of Rs 350 crore, is targeted for completion by the end of 2028.
Spread over 200 acres, the project includes a six-storey, centrally air-conditioned main station building with seating for more than 2,000 passengers and a VIP lounge. A new air concourse, 14 escalators, 16 lifts, upgraded retail, dining and lounge facilities, and about 1,500 high-definition CCTV cameras will also be installed. The Parking capacity will be expanded to about 10,000 vehicles, with multiple entry and exit points at both gates.
The project is executed under the Gati Shakti model station project.
