Toyota Kirloskar gets 827 acres of land in Sambhajinagar for its electric plant
The joint venture of Toyota Motor Corporation and Kirloskar Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has got 827 acres of land in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for a new manufacturing facility dedicated to electric and hybrid cars. This new greenfield plant will be established as part of a joint initiative between the Central and Maharashtra governments, under the Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) project.
This plant would be Located at the Bidkin node of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The smart industrial city aims to attract significant investments, and Toyota Kirloskar is investing Rs 21,000 crore into the project. As per the firm, the construction work will begin soon, with production set to commence in January 2026. The plant would manufacture 4 lakh electric and hybrid vehicles annually.
