Union Cabinet approves Rs 10,000 crore SME Growth Fund
The Union Cabinet has given its nod for the establishment of the SME Growth Fund (SGF), in a bid to provide growth-oriented capital to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This fund will support SMEs across manufacturing, services, technology, and innovation-driven sectors, as well as strategic value chains.
As per the government, the existing equity support schemes largely focus on early-stage enterprises and micro enterprises, leaving a structural gap in growth capital for small and medium enterprises. This fund is approved in line with the announcements made in the Union Budget 2026-27.
