BMC to float tender worth Rs 6,000 crore for road work
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is preparing to float a tender worth Rs 6,000 crore for concrete road works, with construction expected to begin in December or January. According to The Economic Times, estimates for the work are already being prepared. The tender is also expected to include unfinished road works that were assigned to two contractors under work orders issued by BMC in 2023–2024. The contractors either failed to complete the work or made slow progress.
Contracts were awarded to Nagarjuna Construction Company, Eagle Infra India, Roadways Solutions India Infra, Megha Engineers & Infrastructure, and Dineshchandra Agrawal Infracon. According to BMC, the scope of work assigned to Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) has been reduced by Rs 300 crore from the original contract value of Rs 1,600 crore. In the case of Eagle Infra India, the contract value has been reduced by Rs 85 crore.
