Centre sanctions railway projects worth Rs 12,900 crores for Karnataka
The central government has sanctioned railway projects worth Rs 12,900 crores for the Kalyana Karnataka region. Union Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna, announced the projects during the bhoomi puja at a foundation stone-laying ceremony for a road overbridge in place of Level Crossing No 35 at Hagaribommanahall.
He said the government approved the Ballari-Chikkajajur double-line railway project, estimated to cost Rs 3,400 crore. Among other work, Hosapete Railway Station is being upgraded for Rs 15.17 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
