HFCL plans capex of Rs 1,800 crore to boost production
Delhi-based telecom equipment maker HFCL has expanded its capital expenditure (capex) to approximately Rs 1,800 crore. This comes as the firm is looking to boost the production capacity of optical fibre, optical fibre cable, and preform.
According to ET, the firm's board approved an additional capacity expansion of 46 lakh fibre kilometres (Kms) per annum for optical fibre, 56.4 lakh fibre Kms per annum for optical fibre cable, and 300 metric tonnes (MT) per annum for preform. This expansion will be funded through a mix of internal accruals, proceeds from a preferential issue of warrants to the promoter and promoter group entity, and borrowings from financial institutions.
