NPCIL and GSECL sign MoU for development of nuclear power projects in Gujarat
Government-owned Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (GSECL). The MoU is for the development of a nuclear power project of around 4,000MW at Dhuvaran in Anand district in Gujarat.
The project is estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh crore and will mark GSECL's entry into the nuclear power domain. According to the agreement, GSECL will assess land and supporting infrastructure for the proposed project, while NPCIL will undertake site surveys and technical studies and provide expert assistance.
