Railway expansion: Projects worth Rs 23,437 crores approved across various states
The Union Cabinet has approved railway multi-tracking projects worth Rs 23,437 crores. These projects are spread across 6 states and are aimed at easing congestion and improving network capacity.
As per the railway minister, these projects are part of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and are designed to enhance multi-modal connectivity. Some of the key projects are: Nagda–Mathura, Guntakal–Wadi, and Burhwal–Sitapur third and fourth line expansions. Around 19 districts across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana will be getting the benefits of the completion of these projects.
