Gurugram Metro: Expansion worth over Rs 5,452 crore planned
Haryana Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (HMRTC) has plans to expand the network of Gurugram Metro. The Rs 5,452.72 crore investment (funding from both the central and state governments), aims to strengthen connectivity across Millennium City Centre, Old Gurugram, and Cyber City.
As per the update, the project would introduce 27 new stations along a 28.5 km route, enhancing urban mobility and reducing congestion. Expansion work is scheduled to commence on 1 May 2025. The Haryana state government would bear the majority of the cost with an investment of Rs 4,556.53 crore, while the central government will contribute Rs 896.19 crore.
