First in India: Tata steel develops hydrogen transportation pipes
Steel sector major Tata Steel has claimed that it has become India's first steel company to develop pipes for hydrogen transportation. The firm processed the pipes at their Khopoli plant using steel from Kalinganagar.
These pipes have passed important hydrogen transportation tests and will play a significant role in India's National Hydrogen Mission. As per Tata Steel complete technology development, from designing and manufacturing hot-rolled steel to producing the pipes, was done entirely in-house.
