Investment worth Rs 15,000 crore planned by Ambuja Neotia in West Bengal
Real estate major Ambuja Neotia Group has plans to invest 15,000 crores in West Bengal over the next 5 years. As per the firm, the investment would span sectors like healthcare, hospitality, tourism, and residential and commercial real estate. The plans also include a first-of-its-kind golf-themed township.
As per the group's plan, the projects to come up would be:
- Setting up 5 new hospitals across West Bengal — three in Kolkata, one in Durgapur, and one in Siliguri. This would add 1,300 beds taking an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.
- Luxury hospitality circuit in partnership with the Taj Hotels, featuring seven premium hotels in key destinations such as Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Lataguri (Dooars), Digha, the Sundarbans, Shantiniketan, and Raichak. It would take an investment of Rs 1,200 crore.
- 2 convention hotels will be developed in Kolkata and Siliguri, comprising 800 rooms, with an investment of Rs 1,500 crores.
- 240-acre international-standard golf township, featuring an 18-hole golf course, golf-view villas, apartments, a golf hotel, a clubhouse, and premium lifestyle amenities. It would take an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.
- 9 large-scale real estate projects are in progress, with 10.5 million sq. ft. of built space across residential and commercial sectors. Total investment of Rs 6,500 crore.
These announcements were made at the 8th Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata.
