Airtel to source 23,000 MWh renewable energy for data centers
Telecom major Bharti Airtel has plans to purchase 23,000 MWh of renewable energy by Q4 of FY23-24 for its data center company, Nxtra. Airtel added that it will acquire stakes in the renewable energy project companies established by Continuum Green India and Vibrant Energy Holdings Pte. Ltd. to power 6 of Nxtra’s edge data center facilities.
The purchase will be made through an open access route where the telecom operator will acquire a stake in the project company of Continuum Green, which will supply green power from solar and wind power projects to its edge data centers in Madhya Pradesh.
