India and Britain signs free trade agreement
India and Britain have signed a free trade agreement. The historic deal would see tariff cuts on goods from textiles to whisky and cars, and allow more market access for businesses. Talks on the deal concluded in May this year, following 3 years of stop-start negotiations, with both sides hastening efforts to clinch a deal.
This agreement aims to increase bilateral trade by a further 25.5 billion pounds by 2040.
