Bullet train project: L&T bags order worth over Rs 15,600 crore
National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has informed that L&T has bagged an order worth Rs 15,697 crore. The order is related to the development of 135.45 km under Package C-3 of the 508.17 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR Bullet Train) project.
The scope of work under the order involves designing and constructing building works, including testing and commissioning of double line railway, along with viaducts and bridges. The elevated Package-C3, which is considered to be the longest in Maharashtra, also comprises maintenance work of depot tunnels, and earth structures, which will connect Shilphata-Zaroli (ch km 21.150-km 156.600).
The deadline for the work is 4.7 years. Further construction of the Thane depot en route will be carried out through a separate civil construction contract (Package-D1).
