Rameshwaram-Paradip costal highway: CCEA approves project worth Rs 8,301 crores
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister, has approved the construction of a new coastal highway between Rameshwar and Paradip in Odisha. The project will be developed as per the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and has an estimated cost of Rs 8,300.79 crore.
As per ETInfra.com, the project will pass through the districts of Khurda, Puri, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur and will be developed in two packages. Package-1 is worth Rs 5,304.80 crore and involves construction of a 79.40-km four-lane access-controlled highway from Rameshwar to Konark.
Package-2 is estimated to cost Rs 2,995.99 crore and will connect nine economic nodes and five logistics nodes, including Puri Railway Station, Puri Airport, Astarang Port, Paradip Port and the Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Jagatsinghpur.
