Tirupati-Katpadi railway line project: Union cabinet approves investment worth Rs 1,332 crore
The Union Cabinet has given its nod to the Rs 1,332 crore Tirupati-Katpadi rail project. Work involves a doubling of the 104 km line that connects Tirupati Balaji and Sri Kalahasti Shiva temple. The project aims to enhance connectivity to educational and medical hubs of Vellore and Tirupati.
This railway project is a part of a broader wave of 23 major railway infrastructure initiatives being taken up by the prime minister in his 3rd term, spanning 2,869 km of railway lines at a total investment of Rs 86,507 crore.
