InterGlobe, Accor, in talks with Treebo for a master franchise deal
French hospitality chain Accor and aviation firm InterGlobe (aka Indigo) are in talks with homegrown budget hotel brand Treeb for a master franchise deal to expand their presence in India's mid-market hotel segment.
Through collaboration, the plan is to develop 100 hotels within five years, focusing on budget travelers in Tier II and III cities. InterGlobe and Accor in joint venture (JV) of 60:40 are running the ibis brand of hotels in India under InterGlobe Hotels. The ibis Mumbai BKC was announced last month as the 25th property of the JV in the country.
A deal with Treebo is likely to accelerate the process of expansion.
