Government plans to set 5 Bharat nuclear reactors with private sector
The government plans to develop 5 indigenously-manufactured modular reactors — named Bharat nuclear reactors, with the participation of the private sector. As per the government, the plan is to boost its nuclear energy program, aiming for 100 GW by 2047.
This initiative is aimed at addressing the growing energy needs, focuses on environmentally friendly solutions, and collaborates with France and the US. Rs 20,000 crore has been allocated for five small breeder reactors.
