JSW Energy plans to set turbine manufacturing unit in Karnataka
JSW group's firm JSW Energy has plans to set up a wind turbine blade manufacturing unit in Karnataka for captive usage by the company. The plant will cater to the company's internal needs and aims to reduce reliance on imports and ensure a steady supply of wind turbine generators.
The firm has secured a technology licensing agreement with China's Sany Renewable Energy. At the time of writing the investment to be put in the project was not disclosed but as per standards generally, it takes USD 50 million to start a factory to assemble 400-500 turbines in a year.
