NRL refinery expansion project: OIL says work to be completed by 2025
The joint venture of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL) Numaligarh refinery's expansion work is expected to be completed by December 2025, as per OIL. Post expansion the refinery’s capacity is expected to increase to 9 million tonne per annum from the present 3 million tonne.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 28,000 crore, and the physical progress is 65%. Out of total cost, Rs 19,000 crore has already been invested in the project.
