SECI floats tender for wind projects in Gujarat
Government-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a tender inviting bids for setting up 500 wind power projects off the Gujarat coast using viability gap funding (VGF). This initiative is part of the Union government's plan to boost offshore wind energy under the National Offshore Wind Energy Policy.
Winning bidders will sign a power purchase agreement at Rs 4.5 per unit. As per the tender, there will be a greenshoe option as well for allocation of additional capacity of up to 50 MW with the total maximum capacity set at 550 MW.
