New Delhi station redevelopment: Tender to be floated for the 5th time
Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) has informed that it would float the tender for the 5th time for the redevelopment of the New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) as per “airport standards” on January 5th, 2024.
RLDA had started the tendering process for NDLS in July too, but could not find suitable candidates for the Rs 4,700-crore project. Since then, budgetary modifications have been made, adding the redevelopment of the station should begin by the end of this financial year. The project will take around 45 months to be completed.
The revamped station is set to be spread across 1.5 crore sqm, with a pedestrian boulevard connecting the station to Connaught Place.
