Upper Indravati Hydro Power Project: CEA approves project worth Rs 3, 160 crore
The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has approved the 600 MW Upper Indravati Hydro Power (UIHP) project, which would require an investment of Rs 3,160 crore.This project is among the 3 mega pumped storage projects the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) has planned in the state, with an estimated power generation capacity of 1,700 MW.
The other 2 projects are the 500 MW Balimela PSP and the 600 MW Upper Kolab PSP at Bariniput. These 2 projects are at the DPR (Detailed Project Report) preparation level. Around 152 ha of land, including 107.5 ha of forest land, 24 ha of government land, and 20.5 ha of private land, will be acquired for the project.
