Smart Meter tender: GMR, Adani group, and L&T place bids for Rs 230 billion tender
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), Adani Group, and GMR Group have placed bids for a Rs 230 billion tender to install 28 million smart meters across the state of Uttar Pradesh. Smart meters will be installed in the areas of four of the five power distribution companies of Uttar Pradesh, namely Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, and Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
The joint venture of Energy Efficiency Services Limited and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, Intellismart, has also placed a bid for the tender. As of now, Uttar Pradesh has installed 1.1 million smart meters across the state.
