Uttar Pradesh cabinet approves semiconductor projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore
The Uttar Pradesh state cabinet has approved two major investment proposals related to the semiconductor sector. One proposal is worth Rs 27,000 crore from Tarq Semiconductors, which is a joint venture of the Hiranandani Group. the other is worth Rs 3,700 crore by Vama Sundari Investments (HCL Group).
Tarq's facility will be a ‘fab', which is short for fabricator – one that manufactures integrated circuits or microchips, which power an array of devices from smartphones to car computers, laptops, and TVs. The facility will be built on 125 acres in Sector 28 Noida. As per the update, the project is expected to be completed in 2 years.
Both projects will come up off the Yamuna Expressway in the vicinity of the upcoming Noida International Airport.
