Baramulla to Uri Railway Line: Railways floats tender for 50 km line
Northern Railways has floated a tender inviting bids for work on the 50-kilometer Baramulla- Uri sector in Kashmir. This comes as the Indian railways is all set to connect Uri Baramulla with the railway network.
The development comes after Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the operation of the country’s first indigenous semi-high-speed train on the Udhampur-Srinagar- Baramulla rail route in the month of March this year.
Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway (USBRL) railway track is being laid to connect Kashmir with the rest of the country. It comes under the jurisdiction of the Firozpur Railway division of Indian Railways' Northern zone. 359 m (1,178 ft) tall Chenab Bridge lies on this line.
