VO Chidambaranar Port: Capex worth Rs 15,000 crores planned for expansion
V. O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has chalked out a capex (capital expenditure) worth Rs 15,000 crores. The investment is aimed at increasing the overall cargo handling capacity and positioning Tamil Nadu as a major transhipment hub of southern India.
As per The Economic Times, the expenditure on the project will add substantial capacity by 2027 and 2030.
