Bhopal municipal corporation plans slum rehabiliation work
Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned a slum rehabilitation initiative with an aim to revitalize the capital city. The work would be carried out in be carried out with private sector involvement under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
The corporation approved Jhuggi Mukt Bhopal aimed at the socio-economic development of slums. Initially, the work involves software-based socio-economic surveys and management information systems (MIS) entry of households in identified slums.
As per officials, the program is a long-term urban planning and socio-economic growth initiative for approximately 388 slums and over 150,000 households in Bhopal.
