AM/NS India to set up steel plant in Anakapalli, to invest Rs 1.4 lakh crore
The joint venture Arcelor Mittal and Nippon Steel, AM/NS India has plans to set up India’s largest greenfield steel projects with a significant investment of Rs 1.4 lakh crore. The proposed plant to be set up in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli district would have a total capacity of 17.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Work on the project would be done in 2 phases and would start with an initial Rs 80,000 crore investment to establish a 7.3 MTPA capacity plant on a 2,600-acre site. It will be followed by a second phase, which will add 10.5 MTPA capacity with an additional Rs 60,000 crore and another 2,000 acres.
